Lets talk Tapes!! 1-(Washi tape)

Hi everyone ,
Some pending projects have had me focussed elsewhere and, I have to say, I've really missed my craft time! I set aside a bit of time today to play with washi tape. But first............. a little info about washi tapes also known as wasabi tapes.

What is Washi tape?....
Washi tape does originate from Japan, Washi comes from wa meaning Japenese and shi meaning paper and the term is used to describe paper made in traditional manner irrespective where it is manufactured. the best way to describe washi tape is masking tape with beautiful patterns/designs.
"Washi tape is typically made from natural fibers, such as bamboo or hemp, but most commonly from the bark of trees that are native to Japan — the mulberry, the mitsumata shrub or the gampi tree. Most washi tapes are strong (as strong as duct tape in some cases!) and functional as well as pretty, making them wonderful for both everyday and decorative use."

What can i make with it?
Most common use of washi tapes are in gift wrapping, highlighting special dates on calendar or adding an extra touch to any plain blank surface or stuff ,buuuuuut if you want more ideas on washi tape don't forget to check "pinterest" and you will be blown away at all the projects people have used washi tape for! For scrapbookers washi tape is going to be so much fun, washi tape is acid free so its Scrapbook-safe!
